Can a 358 Chevy engine work in a 1972 dodge charger?

I was just wondering if a 358 Chevy engine would work in a 1972 Dodge Charger.|||I'm sure it can be done. The issue would be motor mounts and a bell housing adapter. You can find bell housing adapters at www.advanceadapters.com .The rest is just a matter of fit and wiring....provided you can find or make mounts....or use a chev trans! Good luck.|||Just telling us a '72 Charger doesn't give us enough info to determine very much. Assuming the tranny will bolt up, YES. Assuming the tranny won't bolt up, YES. Assuming the motor mounts won't line up, YES.

Seriously, I don't know if the motor will WORK, as in bolt right up, in your car or not. However, if you're asking CAN you put it in there, YES. You can put ANY engine into ANY car if you're willing to overcome the obstacles in your way like motor mounts, linkage differences and such. I've said this same thing numerous times on Answers, and I always offer the same example. With much hair pulling, fabrication, and just plain cussing, I once put a Ford 460 into an old Chevy Luv pickup.|||Sure, you can put any motor you want in a car, but its how much work you want to do to get it in there. You just gotta get motor mounts that will work for that motor and put a lot of work into the car to get them to work|||We put a man on the moon using 1960's technology. You can put a Chevrolet engine in a Dodge. It's a lot easier than putting a man on the moon.|||Yes, you can, but change your name to $$$$.

Why not use a MOPAR motor? 340's are great to work with, put out good power and are pretty much bullet proof.|||haha wtf no
