What kinds of features are included in a Chevy Police package?

Im looking to buy either a 2000 or 2004 chevy impala with a police package? what features do they have? stability control?|||Having worked in Law Enforcement for years, the Impala police package is not worth it. The cars themselves were throw away cars so add a group of guys that drive balls to the wall most of the day and the extra's that they add for the package get beat harder then a stock car. The Caprice or Crown Vic are MUCH better choices if you have your heart set on a police package car they are built alittle stronger. My Dept sells their cars on a regular basis for cheap money so they are out there. I f you do opt for an ex-cruiser I would go with an ex unmarked Detective car, they tend to be cleaner and less beat.|||Rebel that would be bars on the window %26amp; divider|||Wow - they'll let you buy it WITH the package?? They usually take everything off when they do that.....the biggest thing is the pursuit motor..are you going to have that? Lights? Extra antennas? I really doubt they'll leave a police radio in it...cage in the back....|||Beefed up cooling system. Bigger alternator to run the extra lights, sirens, computers. Extra wiring in place to hook the extra lights up.|||i dont think they can sell with the police packages because if they did then if people bought the cars they can get away from the police...well anyways we have a police interceptor car dealership in my town and none of them have the police package|||"It's got a cop motor, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is this the new Bluesmobile, or what?"

-Elwood Blues|||supercharger. sways, better exhaust and just bout all the bells and whistles you can use|||This is for the earlier mid 90 model Caprice 9C1's. But, I'd say the same is true for the newer models w/ the exception of the engine they have in 'em, now.

Good luck!

Q: What sort of optional equipment can you get on the 9C1 Caprice/Impala?

A: Caprice/Impala 9C1 Options RPO Code Descriptions Price

9C1 Police package $1,159

LT1 5.7L engine $325

QQG R4Y "V" Rated Goodyear P235/70R15 tires $64

6N1 Inside Driver Door Handle releases Lock $20

6C7 Auxiliary Dome Lamp $22

6J6 Rear Window (deck) Brake and Stoplamps $170

Grand Total $2,590

Q: What's a 9C1 option? What does it do?

A: The police package is available on the Caprice for $1159 (1994, and probably 1995, too). You get a whole slew of police-edition specific equipment, much of which also goes on the Impala. However, the Impala does not get all of the special heavy duty equipment of the police package Caprice. It's generally cheaper to get an Impala and add on the missing equipment than to get the Caprice and bring it up to Impala standards, though.
