How long does a Chevy engine last?

How long does a Chevy Engine last? I'm planning to get a Chevy Cavalier but don't know if its engine is long-lasting. I've been hearing that it's good on gas, and its parts are cheap.|||I have had several friends with Cavaliers and they pretty much suck for lasting a long time. Im not sure about the newer models (02-05) but I know the models in the 90s and early 2000s break down alot, which probably why parts are cheap. However a chevy engine (V-8) last very long and are reliable. Any car, as long as you maintain it (oil, tune ups, ect..) it should last for a pretty long time.|||The highest Ive seen is 562,000. I have heard of higher.

|||depending on how well it was taken care of, my 89' 4x4 had 270,000 miles on it until the block cracked.|||Mine's a 2002 and I've got about 230,000 kms on it so far with no issues. Runs great, still got decent power and doesn't use any oil. Hope that helps!|||After 150,000 miles you can expect break downs with any vehicle

If the oil has been changed and the rest of the car has been well taken care of you could get 300,000 miles

BUT not trouble free

You will have repairs in any vehicle with such mileage|||if they are maintained right they last about 160,000 miles, well at least the never once but the older once don't last as much.|||Depends on how the engine was treated and how well it was maintained.|||If you take care of it properly and dont abuse it will last a long time. Ive seen many chevy motors work well in the high 200,000 mile ranges.
